About the Society


To preserve and interpret Southern Oregon railroad history and historical artifacts for the education
and enjoyment of current and future generations through a museum and operating equipment.


The Society holds combined General Membership and Board Meeting on the second Tuesday of the month and feature a program of historic railroad interest. All meetings are open to the public and begin at 7:00 PM at the Rogue Valley Model Railroad Clubhouse at the Railroad Park. The Clubhouse is the yellow wood building at the far (south) end of the parking lot and is the only building (aside from the restrooms) at the Park which can be accessed from outside the fence. It is accessible to people with disabilities; includes ADA compliant rest rooms; handicap parking is available nearby.


We invite you to join SO Rail and get involved with our activities. An informational brochure describes the various classes of membership including reduced rates for youth, family and students.  An Application may be downloaded, completed and submitted to the Society. Questions may be addressed to any of the Board members, below.

Strategic Plan
Our Strategic Plan for 2014 and beyond includes growing our presence at the Railroad Park and developing a scenic tourist railroad featuring local historic equipment.
OPEN 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the Second and Fourth Sundays of the month from April through October. Extensive exhibits include a Willamette steam locomotive under restoration, motor car rides, two cabooses to explore, a flanger, the museum/archive building, the food stand and more.
