Southern Pacific 86' Flat Car
This car was part of a purchase of 50 cars by the Pacific Fruit Express from ACF in 1962. Their class designation was F-70-1 and were numbered 830000 to 830049. In 1970 the Southern Pacific leased these cars from the PFE. They were reclassified to F-70-21 and renumbered to 513650 to 513699.
Dan and Dave Wilkinson purchased 2 of these 86' flat cars from the Southern Pacific in the 1990's. Dan took one of the cars as seen here. Dave with Dan's help converted Dave's car into an open passenger car that operated on the Fillmore and Western Railroad.
The lumber seen on this flat car was recovered from old structures that were torn down in the Rogue Valley. The car is now stored on private property in White City, Oregon as seen here.
